Scholarly Secondary Sources

Title

Scholarly Secondary Sources

Description

Scharly secondary sources are a specific kind of secondary sources that adhere to scholarly standards. Scholarly sources are generally written by authors with some expertise in their topic under study, such as a professor with a graduate degree in history or related discipline. Scholarly sources usually present an argument as a defining feature. Scholarly sources include citations to evidence (both primary sources and other secondary sources). Secondary sources that lack citations are not scholarly because they do not include documentation of evidence. Scholarly sources have been subjected to the process of scholarly review, as is the case with books published by university presses or articles published in academic journals.
